Massaging baby oil onto your little one is a great way to put your infant to sleep.

Most new moms often struggle with getting their babies on a regular sleeping schedule. For some moms, this is a tough task to take on, and many end up not getting the right amount of sleep. If you want to make sure that you and baby get enough rest, then you should try some different techniques to help get baby to sleep at night. One of the things that you can do is use baby oil to give your little one a relaxing massage. With the right approach, your caring and gentle strokes will ensure that baby drifts off to sleep peacefully.

Tips for Baby Massages
An important thing that you need to consider when thinking about the right techniques for baby massage is where to begin the massage. If you have never given a baby massage before, then you might be at a loss when it comes to this. Although all babies are different, it’s a good idea to start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Most babies will feel more comfortable if you start with their legs and feet rather than other places. However, all of this will be a trial and error, and you’ll need to work to find out what your little bundle of joy likes the best. Your baby may be comfortable with you starting the massage anywhere. Just put a little baby oil on your fingertips and try starting with baby’s feet. If this doesn’t work, you can move on to other areas.

One of the things that you’ll need to master in order to give your baby a good massage is using a gentle touch. As you’re probably aware, babies often have very sensitive skin, and they’re a lot more fragile than adults. That means you’ll need to be extra careful when offering a baby massage with baby oil. If you put too much pressure on baby, this could hurt him or her. If you are too gentle, then your strokes could end up tickling your little one and causing discomfort. It may take some time for you to get it exactly right, but always make sure that you’re gentle when touching your little one. This will help ensure that baby is relaxed and gets to sleep afterwards.

Take Cues from Baby
It’s a good idea if you don’t approach baby massage with the idea that you are doing something to your baby. Instead, you should think of this as an activity that you are doing together. If you learn to pay attention to your little one when you’re massaging him or her with baby oil, you’ll quickly pick up on what he or she likes. Take the cue from your little one, and you’ll know when baby is enjoying things and when it’s time to hit the hay.
