The Frisco Montessori preschool Centennial Montessori Academy, located in McKinney, TX, offers an early childhood enrichment program to children in Frisco, TX, McKinney, TX and Allen, TX, in which each child has the ability to explore beyond its regular learning environment.

Early Childhood Enrichment Program

Our early childhood enrichment program is designed to be fun, engaging, and stimulating for the child. Read more below about the enrichment programs that we offer:

Spanish
Every week your child will learn to speak spanish from an award–winning, native speaker in an intimate atmosphere. Your child will be placed in one of two groups based on age and taught age–appropriate content such as numbers, colors, animals, and food as well as learn the Spanish terms for relatives, clothing, greetings, and other various words, themes, and situations. A variety of teaching techniques will be implemented to enhance learning such as songs, rhymes, crafts and games, and even felt–figure pattern books.

Art and Music
Art and music are incorporated into the daily routine. Materials for basic art skills and bells for matching and grading pitches are offered throughout the room. At group time the teacher and children sing songs, learn rhythms, listen to music and learn about composers and artists lives. Special projects are offered in conjunction with Cultural Studies, which combine art skills or involve learning a dance from another country

PE –Movement
This program is taught in a cooperative, fun, safe, and game oriented environment. It is a stimulating program where boys and girls develop motor skills, coordination, balance, and agility. “Mr. Bones,” will be used to teach the children about their own bones and muscles. We also will cover diet and good oral hygiene. Most importantly, your child will have fun.

Yoga
Yoga is also a part of the curriculum. Children collaborate in small groups to perform the “Angel Bear Yoga” in motion songs and movement. Children enjoy yoga and it helps keep them engaged and focused in their regular learning environment as well.

Gardening
Gardening is a great way of getting the students outside to actually be a part of what they are learning...to let them feel the soil, hold the insects (butterfly, caterpillar, etc), the plants, observe the water cycle...gets the whole student involved. The objectives is some scientific learning and that the outside environment a part of the student's natural world. The student can also have the same observations and experiences in their backyard, the neighborhood park, the schoolyard, or a potted plant in their home or apartment windowsill.
