La Marque ISD had a problem- they had more than $6 million in facility damages from Hurricane Ike and limited time to get the projects done. La Marque ISD used its partnership with Choice Facility Partners to access a Job Order Contracting contract with Dura Pier Facilities Services, Ltd., for recovery and restoration. Dura Pier did more than the Job Order Contracting work to get the school facilities ready; they became a community partner and helped in securing funding for the projects.

“We reached out to Dura Pier: They came in and got things kick-started,” said La Marque ISD Assistant Superintendent Rollie Ford. “We had a school with no floor and no paint, that wasn’t going to be ready for the start of school – you wouldn’t believe the amount of work they did in one week’s time, plus working weekends, so that school could open.”
