Day 1: The Most Popular Group to Follow

Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim and Justin Leonard have the largest following so far this morning.  Furyk notched a birdie on 16, then promptly gave it back on 17 with a bogey.

Both Leonard and Kim were consistent on 16 and 17 ... each with pars.  The group remains at even par through the front nine ...

Furyk has the added honor of having DJ Gregory follow him today.  Gregory, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has walked with a pro golfer for 21 straight weeks.  He was assigned Furyk for the Colonial.

Gregory says Furyk was pretty excited that he was chosen to follow him.  When asked about the event itself, Furyk says the Colonial course is one of his favorites.  Since the course is short, it's all about placement.  He feels comfortable at this event and with the people here.

Is Gregory considered a good luck charm?  His best finish was a T9 at Match Play World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play with Aaron Baddeley.
