Day 2: Come Chill at the Colonial

Posted by Colonial Golf Girl in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX on May 23, 2008

Over in one of my favorite areas of the course you will find a lime green oasis. Its in between the beautiful 15, 16, and 17 holes and it is called the Miller Chill Zone. Huge fans blast cool refreshing air on you as the wonderful volunteers from Nolan Catholic High School serve up some refreshing cold ones.

The Viking Club is Nolan's parent volunteer group that raises money for the school's sport groups. Nolan educates 1100 students 9-12 and is the only Catholic High School in Fort Worth.

The Chill Zone is the perfect spot to try out the new Miller Chill after making the trek around the back 9. And hey you can't be free stuff being given away by the Miller Girls. Jim an employee of Miller said there will be 4-5 girls today through Sunday walking the course and passing out an assortment of free goodies.

I honestly think I've gotten more free stuff in these past few days at the Crowne Plaza Invitational than I had during my entire time at TCU. OK maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration but seriously alot of cool stuff is being passed out by a bunch of different companies.

You can go test your putting skill at a shot to win an ESPN 103.3 t-shirt at the Crowne Plaza Lounge, walk over to the Cadillac for a free hat, play some Wii golf at the XTO Military Zone and ohhhh the koozies!

This place has everything a sports fan wants and needs to have a great time. The equation goes as follows:

Great food + cold beer + free stuff + great fans + AWESOME sport = One heck of a weekend!

So come watch some great golf and Chill with us at the Colonial.
