Day 2: Some Things In Life Are Beautiful

While walking the course, there are some views that I cannot shake from my mind. And yes, there is always the eye candy factor at Colonial, but beyond the sun dresses and wedges is the thing of constant beauty — the course.

My top three views on the course are in this order ...
Third Place: The fairway on the 611 yard 11th hole is one of the few spots on the course where you can see downtown while walking toward the green. The mammoth par 5 is the longest hole on the course and also one of the finest.

Second Place:  The tee box on 17 is another spot that is too nice to pass by. The hole winds it's way through a small valley and ends with a gallery by the 14th green and the 15th tee box. The fairway led to an entertaining recovery shot by Bill Haas when he managed to birdie 17. His lie was on the 15th fairway but somehow he used an iron to land within two feet of the pin. Nice shot Billy, even nicer hole.

First Prize: The hole view on 14. There are few times you can see the golfer make his approach shot to the green from directly in front of his face. Take a look.
