Day 3: Captain's Log ... Star Date ... Kirk is Off the Course

It's a first for Chris Kirk.  The Tennessee native who now resides in Georgia, played the third round of the Colonial by himself.

"I've never played a Tour round by myself.  It was really hard to pace myself and I flew through the front nine.  On the back nine, I was able to slow it down."

Chris finished his round in 2:50.  And while most of the experience seemed "weird", he did say the benefit was he didn't have to worry about getting in anyone's way.

Chris finished today (+2) and is (+4) for the tournament ... which means he may miss today's cut.

When asked if the difficulty of playing solo affected his game ... Chris says, it didn't have anything to do with it.  He says his putting was the problem.  If he had a good putt, it lipped out ... or he missed it altogether.

So what do you do when your "work" day is done at 9:50am?  "I'm going to go eat breakfast," Chris said.
