Ole Lefty's crowd is swarming towards the back 9 here at the Colonial. Phil Mickelson caused the crowd to roar as he hit his second shot on hole 9 (a par 4) 131 yards to get within 6 inches of the hole. Mickelson would go on to birdie the hole and jump back up to 5th in the standings.
There is no sports crowd roar like the one you get with the brief moments of a big shot. Hundreds of people simultaneously either cheering of moaning, depending on the result, can give you chills.
Much of the crowd will push forward with Lefty in hopes of seeing him regain his lead by the end of the day. I'm sure there are more roars to come.
