Day 4: You go this way I'll go that way

The pairing of Ben Crane and Kevin Sutherland started their days off very differently from the way the rest of the front nine would go for the two. On hole 1 Sutherland had no problem taking an early birdie on the par 5. Crane on the other hand shot his second shot onto the sidewalk from the bunker in the middle of the course.

On his third shot, with a crowd huddled around him 49 yards from the hole, he chipped a ball high over the green but the wind managed to push it to the left just enough to catch the very tip of the tree hanging over the green and cause it to fall into the bunker. Crane managed to chip out of the bunker within a foot of the hole for par which appeared to give him some confidence as he is -3 on the day now through 12 tied for 4th 4 strokes behind the leader.

Sutherland unfortunately played his best hole on the first one. His short game has been a problem all day and he didn't manage to birdie another hole until the 11th. As it stands now Sutherland is +3 through 12 on the day and has dropped to a tie for 17th place.

More one this tale of two games later. Its time for me to get back out and work on my farmers tan a little more.
