We are representing a Healthcare company located in Boston that is experiencing 1-year sales growth of 12% and 7-year sales growth of 250%.  This is a newly created position due to company growth.

Responsibilities of Compliance Manager:

•   Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and overseeing the corporate compliance/regulatory program.

•    Monitor each facility’s compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, as well as all laws, regulations, and accreditation standards including the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, Medicare guidelines, and Joint Commission standards.

•    Review and prepare each facility for surveys and inspections (by Joint Commission, CMS, URAC, and other entities), attend such surveys, report on the outcomes, and develop any corrective action

•    Develop, implement and evaluate current policies, and assist in the creation of new policies and procedures.

•    Conduct routine, on-site audits of medical and billing records, and preparing the data and reports of such audits.

•    Advise on privacy issues related to responding to subpoenas and court orders and the release of protected health information.

•    Maintain database of all facility licenses and ensure timely renewals.

•    Monitor and remain aware of changes to laws and regulations that affect the company’s health care business.

•    Prepare and conduct compliance training programs for facilities as needed.

•    Perform facility compliance audits and reviews.

•    Investigate reports of suspected violations of the compliance program. 

•    Monitor the Corporate Compliance Hotline.

Requirements of Compliance Manager:

•    Bachelor’s degree.

•    Must have a minimum of four years experience in health care management, including quality improvement, risk management, compliance, and medical record auditing.  

•    Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards, and must have successfully completed surveys.  

•    Demonstrated knowledge of health information privacy laws, including HIPAA.

•    Be a self-starter who works well independently, but knows when to seek input or ask for guidance.
