EXECUTIVE JOB OPENING:
Compliance Counsel – Houston, TX
EXECUTIVE JOB OPENING OPPORTUNITY:
We
are representing an International Fortune 500 client experiencing 16%
revenue growth. This is a newly created position, described as a
compliance counsel or compliance attorney, that was previously handled
by a JV partner. Conselium is accepting resumes from qualified
candidates in the San Antonio area to fill this position. The Compliance
Counsel will have complete authority
over an expensive world-wide operation covering every continent.
RESPONSIBILITIES of COMPLIANCE COUNSEL:
--Implements
Company policies and procedures regarding legal/regulatory
requirements, ethics and business conduct and communicate same to
management, employees, agents, JV partners and contractors.
--Monitors compliance with these requirements and reports to the management, makes recommendations for change when appropriate.
DUTIES of COMPLIANCE COUNSEL:
--Code of Conduct, Company policies – maintain and update as necessary; ensure communication and enforcement of same
--Legal/Regulatory
matters – communicate current legal requirements in the areas of FCPA,
import/export, licensing, anti-boycott, etc. to appropriate groups
--Due Diligence – oversee and maintain an effective due diligence process to screen potential agents and business partners
Senior officers, managers – provide guidance on compliance issues as appropriate
--Training
programs – develop materials and conduct training sessions with
employees, management, agents and business partners, focusing on issues
specific to each group; oversee compliance with web-based training;
update all training as necessary
--Help Line – manages,
monitors and reviews activity and trends, conduct periodic compliance
audit, seek to improve effectiveness
--Violations – responds
to suspected violations of Company policy through investigations and
recommendation of appropriate disciplinary action; reports findings to
senior management
--High Risk areas – identify same and develop appropriate measures to minimize risk
REQUIREMENTS for COMPLIANCE COUNSEL:
- J.D.
- Minimum 8 years total legal / attorney experience
- Minimum 2 years compliance experience
RELOCATION:
Provided
COMPENSATION for COMPLIANCE COUNSEL:
Base of $170,000 - $200,000 + 20% Bonus + $30,000 annul equity
