Conselium, an executive search firm with a specialty in compliance, has just completed a search for a VP Chief Compliance Officer in Boston, MA on behalf of Biogen Idec Inc. Ms. Rosland McLeod will begin her role of VP Chief Compliance Officer January 12, 2009.
Ms.McLeod will be responsible for:
• Developing, implementing, administering, updating and monitoring the Company’s compliance programs adopted by business units throughout all areas and functions of the Company
• Ensuring that internal reporting mechanisms are developed, implemented, maintained and actively monitored to enable Company employees to report suggestions or concerns regarding the Company’s compliance programs and potential compliance violations
• Ensuring that all concerns and reports of violations throughout the Company are investigated and resolved
• Ensuring that the Finance and Audit Committee is immediately notified of concerns or reports of violations relating to members of senior management, as well as accounting, internal control, auditing, regulatory or financial matters
• Coordinating with the Internal Audit Department on matters relating to audits and other techniques to monitor compliance and to monitor and address identified risk areas and to ensure that robust auditing and monitoring systems are in place
• Chairing Committee meetings. This includes scheduling regular and ad hoc meetings, preparing agendas for meetings and, where necessary, distributing materials to Committee members in advance of meetings
Rosland McLeod was previously a Partner in the Healthcare Practice of K&L Gates, LLP. Ms. McLeod’s previous professional positions include General Counsel and Ethics & Compliance Officer at Novation, LLC and VP of Legal Operations at Triad Hospitals, Inc. Ms. McLeod obtained her Juris Doctor from University of Houston Law Center.
