DALLAS, TEXAS - Richard Louv, author, journalist and expert on connection between family, nature and community will be the featured speaker at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, in Rosine Hall on November 5th at 7:00 pm. Louv's most recent award was the 2008 Audubon Medal, presented by the National Audubon Society. Louv will share his passion for reconnecting children with nature and answer questions about how we can help Dallas' children have a brighter future by creating happier, healthier and smarter kids. Mr. Louv's book will be available for purchase. A book signing will follow the lecture.
Hailed as "an absolute must-read" by the Boston Globe and "too tantalizing to ignore" by Audubon Magazine, Louv's book "Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder" is an inspiring work that proves children need nature as much as nature needs children. His book has been translated into 9 languages and published in 13 countries. Louv is the chairman and co-founder of the Children & Nature Network, an organization helping build a movement to strengthen and protect this connection.
