Bobby Blanchard, DRT Member and president of EO Dallas, was killed on March 17, 2007 in a plane crash in Oklahoma. Bobby had just turned 50 on March 16th. Bobby is survived by his wife Jan Blanchard. For more information on the accident, go to http://kten.com/Global/story.asp?S=6242588.

Bobby was an active member of the North Texas business community and partner with Blanchard Shaefer Advertising and PR in Arlington, TX. In addition, Bobby was a former member of the Dallas Round Table and President of EO Dallas.

Bobby was a beloved member of the DRT. He was always outgoing, funny and willing to help in time and resources with each member. Called "Bobby the Bull" for his hulking frame, Bobby had recently celebrated his birthday on Friday, joining some of the DRT member's at our Happy Hour on Thursday for drinks and dinner. This would be the last any of us would have seen him.

Bobby was in a small private plane with four people, including our own member Calvin Carter. They where fly to OK with some other members of EO. While everyone else survived (Calvin had minor burns) Bobby died. Details of the accident have not been released.

We are grateful that Calvin survived the ordeal and support the Blanchard family in this time of grief. As more details of the funeral arrangements are made, the DRT will post them on our website.
