Originating in Italy, Kinesis Movement Training is a groundbreaking exercise experience that provides “group personal training combining the benefits of Pilates, Yoga, Core, and extremity strength training.”  Using cable resistance, Kinesis, which means “movement” in Greek, allows far freer movement to develop balance, flexibility, endurance and strength.

It looks like a large piece of furniture that houses four workout stations called “modules.”  Each module is geared to exercise specific body areas through full resistant movement.  The trainer keeps the pace and counts the repetitions.  People of all fitness levels can coexist in the class by selecting their own weight levels and postures.  Breaks are brief . . . just a gulp of water or a curse under your breath.

One gentleman and loyal fan lost over 20 pounds in the last several months using Kinesis.  Others prefer the full-body stretch and aerobic activity within the short but intense 30-minute workout.

The group classes are $15 with club membership.  Non-members must pay an additional $16 day pass which allows full access to the numerous offerings of Verandah Club.
