It is with great pleasure that Ghostbar presents acclaimed musician and former bass player of The Smiths, Andy Rourke.  Trained classically at the age of eight and with a passion for funk, Rourke has performed alongside some of the greatest bands and musicians of our day, and it is his unique sound paired with faultless bass playing abilities that brought magic to the music.  In addition to The Smiths, he has also performed and recorded with Sinéad O’Conner, The Pretenders, and Badly Drawn Boy, among others.  Rourke and his production company, Great Northern Productions, with long time manager Nova Rehman organized Versus Cancer, a charity that creates off concerts with legendary musicians to raise much needed money to fight cancer.  Currently, Rourke is a DJ on XFM Manchester, broadcasting new and classic indie anthems on Saturday nights and is in a band called Freebass with bass players Mani (The Stone Roses and Primal Scream) and Peter Hook (New Order and Joy Division) and vocalist Gary Biggs (Haven).
