Our client is the developer and distributor of the Animal House, an upscale furniture product catering to pets and pet owners by functioning as a pet’s home. Furniture stores are always interested in carrying new products that drive customers to their stores. The Animal House is intended to serve as a pet’s home or as a training crate, bed, toy and pillow storage unit, and much more, while beautifully blending in with the décor of the home. The product is turn key with the main research and development completed, six base patents issued, special packaging developed, and testing successfully done.

The Animal House blends style and design to create a multi-functional piece of furniture for pets and owners. The product is enhanced with air purifiers, washable cushions covers, and easy access pans that make cleaning easier. The entire top surface of the unit also opens to allow easy access to remove cushions and trays.

Who should buy this company? Animal House represents a sound investment opportunity in the growing furniture and pet products markets as a stand alone purchase or as an addition to a larger national-based presence. The product has received strong feedback from several pet and furniture trade shows worldwide. After it was first displayed at the Interzoo show in Nuremberg, Germany, various well known retailers expressed interest, with PETCO and Central Pet Supplies providing vendor agreements. Patents and Copyrights: Five base patents have been issued from the US Patents and Trademarks Office to the Company to date for the overall structure and utility. A sixth patent for the air purification system within the stairs was recently issued per a letter from the US Patent and Trademark Office. A seventh patent was also recently issued covering the magnetic assembly process for the mid range Animal House prototype. With three years of in-market testing, the Company has experienced wide acceptance with both consumers and the hospitality sector. The product appeals to a large customer base across two very large retail segments, furniture and pet. Management envisions the uniqueness of the product driving traffic to furniture stores, increasing opportunities for other products such as bedroom suites and sofas. Because it lacks any competition and is a truly unique product, retailers carrying the product will have a distinct offering which will improve the marketability of the entire store.
