Tolar HVAC Repair Service Glenn-Aire Company talks summer and air conditioning.

Granbury AC Repair

Can you believe how hot it is outside?  Even to native Texans such as ourself summer's heat consistently takes us by surprise.  Fortunately, a lot of our time is spent indoors where the air conditioner is running.  I cannot imagine how anyone could survive this weather without a working AC unit.

Speaking of a working air conditioner, if your system happens to be broken, and you are at an end trying to repair it yourself, then please consider the following advice when choosing an AC repair company.  Not all contractors are the same, and everyone's needs are different.

First, price is probably going to be the biggest determining factor over who you choose to go with.  We understand how critical price is, but we do want to caution you from only paying attention to this variable.  While you may immediately only fork over a small amount of money for a service, it is not uncommon that the quality of service is so below the standard that you inevitably end up paying a larger sum in the long-term.

With price out of the way, just what should you be looking for in an HVAC contractor? What  a great question!  Over the years of working within the HVAC industry, Glenn-Aire Company has been able to gain a much better discernment over what works and what does not for most people.  The following is a small but important checklist of things to keep in mind:

  • Review the contractor's history.  Take the time to examine their rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and check the number of customer complaints as well as how those complaints were resolved.  Also, we highly recommend asking for references.
  • Verify the contractor is licensed.  Have him or her provide verification by showing you a copy of his or her license.
  • Inquire about workers’ compensation insurance.  This insurance helps prevent you from bearing the costs should a worker get injured while on the job at your property.
  • Does the company guarantee their work?  Will they stand by their service or run away from it?  A good company will ensure the job gets done right!
  • Be aware of who is supervising and what specific work is to be expected.  This will help avoid confusion and prevent any unnecessary surprises and, consequently, unexpected costs.

It can be difficult deciding which company you want servicing your air conditioning unit.  But putting the time in to review your available choices will be well worth the effort.
