Mr. Joe Dougherty is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager / Head of Retail Products at Highland Capital Management, L.P.
Mr. Dougherty also functions as Senior Vice President, Portfolio
Manager, Trustee and/or Director of Highland’s
NYSE-listed funds and 1940 Act registered funds. Mr. Dougherty also holds the position of Portfolio Manager for Highland’s sub-advised closed-end funds.
As Portfolio Manager, Mr. Dougherty oversees retail fund investment decisions, with several other Portfolio Managers, managing the team
dedicated to day-to-day operations of the retail funds.
Before his current role at Highland Capital, Mr. Dougherty served as Portfolio Analyst for
Highland from 1998 to 1999. As a Portfolio Analyst, Mr. Dougherty
followed companies within the restaurant, grocery, retail and wireless sectors.
Mr. Joe Dougherty worked as an Investment Analyst with Sandera Capital
Management from 1997 to 1998 before joining the Highland Capital team in March 1998.
Previous to this, Mr. Joe Dougherty worked a Business Development
Manager at Akzo Nobel from 1994 to 1996 and a Senior Accountant at
Deloitte & Touche, LLP from 1992 to 1994.
Mr. Joe Doughtery earned an MBA from
Southern Methodist University (SMU), and a BS in Accounting from Villanova University.
A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Joe Dougherty can use the designation of a Chartered Financial Analyst.
