Mr. John Morgan is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager for Highland Capital Management, L.P. With this role, there is the responsibility for overseeing Highland Capital Management's Real Estate debt investments. Highland Capital Management’s real estate investments are inclusive of various asset types, including Collateralized Mortgage Backed Securities (“CMBSs”), whole loans, B-notes, real estate bank loans and mezzanine notes.

Mr. John Morgan oversees every aspect within the investment process. Mr. Morgan oversees the initial underwriting, oversees due diligence and acquisition, and also oversees surveillance, asset management and the disposition. Having joined the Highland Capital team in March 2000, Mr. John Morgan has also overseen retail, restaurant, and supermarket sectors.

Before his current duties at Highland Capital, Mr. John Morgan functioned as a Portfolio Analyst for Falcon Fund Management, LTD. Mr. Morgan worked at Falcon from August 1995 - February 2000. While at Falcon, Mr. John Morgan mainly assisted the portfolio manager in the security selection process, while also assisting with the portfolio management.

Mr. Morgan has had numerous duties, many of them inclusive of:
• searching companies / industry
• modeling financial performance
• generating comparables

Previous to his role at Falcon, Mr. John Morgan worked as an Analyst for a Convertible Arbitrage Fund at Q Investments. Mr. Morgan’s main responsibility included financial statements analyzing, corporate disclosures analysis and performance analysis for potential investments.

Mr. Morgan earned his MBA and his BS in Biological Sciences from Southern Methodist University (SMU), in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Morgan may use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
