Simple Guidelines To Write Articles Quickly

 Article marketing is a must when pursuing a work from home opportunity online. Being able to write articles quickly can make a huge difference in the effectiveness of your marketing effort.  Here are some guidelines to write articles quickly.

 1.      Time yourself  

The top tactic to write articles quickly is to time ourselves. Facetious as it may sound, a timer does a good job keeping us effectively focused on completing our tasks.  Without a timer, we would feel subconsciously uncommitted to the task and would give way to stray thoughts easily. When our thoughts stray, we have no recourse but to work slowly.   Therefore, get a timer, make a conscious effort to stick to it, and then following the next few guidelines.  

2.      Decide on the topic of interest (2 minutes)  

A good topic is one that we can relate to.  To find a topic that we can relate to, we can do one of two things:

• Reflect on your daily thoughts. We all have thoughts, issues, questions and problems that come into our minds on a day to day basis.  These thoughts are the inventory of our topics to write about.  If we think about them, chances are that we relate to them and they can become an article for us. To pick a problem and try to word the solutions into an article is always a good choice.  
• Looking for inspiration If we don’t already have list of interests to write about, we can always get inspired by looking  up our niche at EzineArticles.  The titles will for sure inspire us on many potential topics to write about.  

3.      Decide which angle to approach writing (2 minutes)  

After we have decided on the topic to write about, determine the angle that we want to approach the writing.  In this day and age, people go to the Internet to look for information.  So for people to be interested in our articles, a good angle would be to provide instructions on how to do something, or ways to do something.  Here is a few to choose from:

• How to write articles quickly
• 5 Ways to write articles quickly
• 5 Benefits of writing articles quickly
• 5 Steps to…
• 5 Reasons to…
• 5 Tips to…
• 5 Methods to…
• 5 Guidelines to…  

Just pick any and start to organize our thoughts around this structure.   

4.      Do minimal research on the topic (30 minutes)  

With a topic we can relate to and an angle we want to approach both decided, we have the skeleton of the article already. Now we only  need to find the meat part to fill in the skeleton.  For typical marketing articles, minimal research will suffice.  We only need to get as much information as 500 words to fill in our outline, which has been roughed out from the first two steps. This minimal research would equate to looking up 1-3 articles on the topic and skimming through them for the core concepts.  

5.      Start writing without interruption (20 minutes)  

Start writing according to our outline without interruption.  Bear in mind that our own thoughts will want to check us or second guess us to slow down our writing process.  Make all effort to stay focused. Be very watchful for the following major offenders of our own thoughts:

• Constantly stopping in the middle of writing to check how the article is flowing by reading from the top This practice is premature and slows the writing down.  Avoid any kind of edits until we finish writing the draft.
• Checking and perhaps re-evaluating your article approach. This kind of re-evaluation is detrimental to the efficiency and should be avoided at all cost. Stick to our perspective and approach for this article. If we feel strongly about a different approach, topic, or perspective, we can save it for another article.  

6.      Final edits (5 minutes)  

Do final edits or touch-ups on the article.  

As outlined above, it takes about 1 hour to do one article.  This time includes the research of 30 minutes.  In reality, the research can actually be done for multiple topics all at once, effectively saving some time on each article written. Some research may take the form of internal thoughts that happen over the course of a few days, weeks or months, without any specific time spent at the time of writing the article.  As such, you are realistically looking at writing an article in 30 minutes.
