Great Hamburgers and Hand-dipped Shakes in Frisco, Texas

I've been waiting years for a really good burger place anywhere near where I live in Little Elm, TX. My wait is now over thanks to Willie's Burger House in west Frisco, TX.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Willie's Burger House for lunch on Saturday and we were very impressed. This is a family run burger restaurant on the west side of Frisco, Texas, right near the new Pizza Hut Park.

Of course, I had to go all the way and get the Double Cheeseburger with Bacon and an order of Onion Rings. Now I have to tell you, these were some of the best onion rings I have had in a very long time. The batter was very light, yet it clung to the onions very well even after dunking them in ketchup.

The burger was cooked a little more than I like, but according to Woody Norris, the owner, that is a requirement of the Frisco Health Department. (Thanks Frisco, I don't know how I have survived 40 years eating my burgers cooked medium without you!)

The onion rings and the hand-dipped chocolate shake, more than made up for the well-done burger. The chocolate shake was out of this world. It is made with Henry's Homemade Ice Cream, which has 16% butter fat (that's the good stuff).

The environment is great. When you walk in, there are flat screen TV's on every wall and a big 50 incher by the cashier, so if there is a line you can catch up on the latest sports action while you wait to place your order.

They also have a meeting and party room for your convenience. It's decked out with two flat screen TVs, a DVD player and a computer connection for those corporate get-togethers.

So, the next time you're near the Pizza Hut Park for a concert or sport event, get there early and stop by Willie's Burger House and tell 'em Ken sent you. You'll be glad you did.
