Dallas electrical contractor, Light It Up Electric, is a full service residential and commercial electrical company and has been serving the home owners and businesses in the north Dallas area since 2000. Light It Up Electric is owned and operated by Todd Guernsey, a Master Electrician who has been a practicing electrician for 13 years. Todd's wife, Natasha, works with him to promote the business and network in the area.

That's actually how I got to know Todd and Natasha. They are fellow members of the Little Elm Business Network and the Little Elm Chamber of Commerce.

There are many different types of electricians and it's important to know the difference.

  1. Master Electrician - can work by themselves and have Journeymen Electricians and Apprentice Electricians work under them. You must have a Master Electrician License to open an electrical company.
  2. Journeyman Electrician - can work by themselves and have an Apprentice Electrician work under them.
  3. Apprentice Electrician - this is someone who is just starting out in the trade. They cannot work by themselves.
  4. Lineman Electrician - an electrician that works on the high voltage lines.
  5. Sign Electrician - works on electrical signs in front of stores.
  6. Residential Wireman - this person does electrical work for new residential construction only.

As a Master Electrician, Todd Guernsey is licensed and insured to do just about anything having to do with electrical wiring around your home or office.

Here's just a short list:

  • Under and above counter lighting
  • Install outlets under the eves of your home for holiday lighting
  • Install ceiling fans, chandeliers, can lights, track lights, pendent and wall scone lights.
  • Install security, landscape and house lighting
  • Install arbor and patio custom lighting, outlets and fans
  • Wire for spa, hot tub and pool equipment
  • Add extra outlets or dedicated circuits in your house, garage or exterior

And just recently Natasha has started offering replacement light bulbs for your home and office.
