No matter what your age, experience or background, communicating effectively at work is something that every person can achieve. Motivational speaker Joel Zeff teaches you how to be more successful by learning how to communicate effectively at work.
Learning how to communicate effectively at work can sound like a boring task. However, Joel Zeff can teach you fun ways to increase the effectiveness of your communication skills, energizing your team and increasing productivity. Here are just a few of the ways you can communicate more effectively at work, while still having fun.
Stay in the Game:
1. Anyone can quit. The only way to be successful is to stay in the game. If you stay in the game, you might have to learn something new; get out of your comfort zone, communicate differently; or try a new approach. If you quit, you are guaranteed failure. If you stay in the game, you will find success.

2. Create opportunity for people to communicate. Match the opportunity with positive support. When was the last time you asked your employees what they needed to be happy?
Physical Interaction:
I have listed a few of my following “easy” interaction exercises that the managers can take back to their employees.
1. Bunny, Bunny, Bunny.
Put your thumbs to your head, so you have bunny ears. Say, “Bunny, Bunny, Bunny,” very fast three times. Do it as a group. Then give the person to your left and right a “bunny, bunny, bunny.”
This is a great way to start a team employee meeting or quick gathering. The point is that we all look a little silly and foolish. Everyone took a risk. Why? When we all did the bunny, bunny, bunny together, we supported each other and did not judge. This allowed us to communicate, deal with change and have fun. That is the spirit of the bunny, bunny, bunny. We are all in this together. We will all make mistakes and sometimes look a little foolish. If we support each other, and not be so quick to judge, we will create a more effective environment for communication and teamwork.
2. Zig-Zag-Zog
This is a focus game. The foundation of good teamwork and communication is focus. We have to be in the moment with each other. We are at our best when we are in the moment. We are better leaders, communicators, and teammates. We are more creative and effective. We never know what is coming next; and we don’t have to if we are prepared. That is the point of this game. If we increase our focus and become more prepared, we will be able to handle any challenge.

There are two ways to play this game:
A. A “leader” is the caller. If the leader says Zig, the group says Zag. If the leader says Zag, the group says Zog. You have to clap when you say Zog. If the leader says Zog, the group starts over and says Zig. The leader can call out any of the words in any order. The group must pay attention and focus. And isn’t that what communicating with customers and each other is all about?
B. You can play the game where someone in the circle makes eye contact and says Zig. The other person then makes eye contact with someone else and says Zag. And so on.
Communication makes the world go round. On a smaller level, communication, or being
able to communicate effectively is what gets you through each day, in
both your personal and work life. No matter what your age, background
or experience, communicating effectively at work is something that every person
can achieve if they work at it. Contact Joel today to learn more about how you can communicate effectively at work.
