Founded in 1912, Dale Carnegie Training has evolved from one man's belief in the power of self-improvement to a performance-based training company with offices worldwide. We focus on giving people in business the opportunity to sharpen their skills and improve their performance in order to build positive, steady, and profitable results.

LevelTen Design prides itself on being a leader in the community when it comes to innovation of technology applications, online marketing and really great returns on our client’s investments.   In order for LevelTen to continue to excel, Tom McCracken the owner of LevelTen highly encourages his employees to consistently meet new business owners and companies that we can learn from.  Several years ago, Tom took his employees through a leadership training program at one of the best in the business for improving results for companies through leadership sales and teamwork philosophies, Dale Carnegie Training in Dallas, Texas.

Recently, on February 7, 2008, The North Dallas Chamber Building Business Expo took place in Addison, Texas and Jamie Swartz and Jon Webb of LevelTen design got out to meet some new business owners and Managers and introduce themselves to key leaders in the community that they could network with.

It was no great surprise that Dale Carnegie Training was not only attending but had a booth as well.  Sarah Martinez and I have spoken on the phone multiple times about different seminars that I was interested in attending, but when Nate Prevost the Regional Sales Manager told me one of the programs that they were offering the youth of our community, I was blown away!   If you have pre-teens or teenagers that you truly want to prepare for the world that exits today, you absolutely must get them in front of this program.  Here is just a tidbit of all of the wonderful information that will be bestowed upon them and you for that matter! Gayle Prevost the Marketing Manger sent me this info to share:

They say the children are our future.  Are you comfortable with that?  Are kids today focused on their futures?  Or are they just living in the moment?  I was pleasantly surprised to find, through research, that many high school kids really are focused on what they want to do with their lives after graduation.  They have ideas and dreams that span a large gorge; everything from neonatal surgeon to airplane mechanic to rockstar.  Some of them know exactly how they will reach their goals, and some are unsure.  But entering the "real world" as an 18 year old kid can be a very intimidating transition, even for the most outgoing child.  Most of them leave high school thinking they are now "ADULTS" and can handle anything on their own, and they don't need our help (or rules) anymore.  Believe me, I learned from experience that it doesn't take long before you hear "Mom?" or "Dad?".  They have come to the realization that maybe they weren't quite as ready as they thought.  But that is OK and very natural.

What can us as parents and adults, do to help our teenagers gain self-confidence in themselves so that they can face any challenge in life, overcome obstacles and make themselves "unforgettable" wherever they go and with whomever they come into contact, whether it is one of their own peers or the CEO of a giant corporation?

Go to  the mall and observe.  If you watch a teenager in a group of their friends and peers, they are usually very out-going, talkative, loud and excitable.  But have you ever watched one interview for a job at one of the retail stores?  Some kids have all the confidence in the world, and have no problem with an interview whatsoever.  But a lot of them will barely speak above a whisper, will show a major lack of self-confidence and will never make eye-contact with the interviewer.  This lack of self-confidence can cause issues for them in many aspects of their lives, now and in the future when we are not around to help them out.  Dale Carnegie Training has a program specifically for these teenagers, called Generation.Next.

High School Grads

Generation.Next is a program that teaches high school students "life" skills - skills that most high schools have a limited capacity to teach. The program is designed to take the education that students are receiving and leverage it with real-life skills.  Students learn everything from how to prepare for a job or college interview and how to sharpen people skills, to reducing stress and building confidence to tackle new opportunities. We can help them succeed.  The course content focuses on five key areas that are critical for future success: building self-confidence, enhancing communication skills, interpersonal skill development, teamwork and leadership skills, and effective attitude management.

High school kids who have graduated from this program tell us that their new skills they learned and practiced in this course have made them:

· Highly focused on their goals

· Better decision makers when faced with difficult choices

· More persuasive communicators

· Better prepared for applying to college and interviewing for jobs

· Able to confront stress and challenges in a more positive way

Don't wait to do this for your child.  If your teenager is in High School, and could use some help with self-confidence, communication or just stepping outside of their comfort zone, you need to check into this for them.  These teenagers, after all, are going to be our future government officials, surgeons, CEOs of the largest Corporations, airplane mechanics and entertainers. We should try to give them all the information and ammunition they can get, to help them achieve their goals, deal with conflict and worry, and just stand up for themselves against outside temptations and pressures.

If you would like an extensive brochure to review, (in .pdf format), complete with all program information, testimonials from parents who put their child through this program, and testimonials from the kids themselves, please visit our Dallas Franchise Blog and send me a comment requesting the information, and I will email it to you.

The Dallas Dale Carnegie franchise will be offering Generation.Next for the first time this summer for kids ages 13 - 18.  You will find the course to be invaluable to you and your child, both in their relationship with you, their peers and in their future lives.  Don't hesitate to get your child enrolled because this course will fill up fast!  These children are our future!
