Jetcast Overview

What is Jetcast?

Jetcast is a great way for anyone to enjoy media for free. Jetcast is your online portal to listen to radio stations and watch video channels and even TV stations any time you want.

Commercial Radio and TV broadcasters use Jetcast to save on their streaming costs.

Other content owners with original material like independent movie producers and unsigned musical acts can also use Jetcast to stream a channel quickly and easily without the costs of a powerful server and vast bandwidth.

NOTE: For any custom channels unique to Jetcast and not repurposed from a broadcast station, all content must be either wholly-owned by the channel originator, or be properly licensed materials.

With Jetcast there can be an unlimited number of simultaneous users of any channel.

How does Jetcast work?

Jetcast is an optimized network, tailored for media delivery. Every user of Jetcast streaming services is a part of the Jetcast network to assure efficiencies. The originator of any Jetcast channel provides primary and supplemental bandwidth for the first level users who in turn share their bandwidth to help feed other users. Local groups also provide additional efficiencies on the fringes of the Internet. Together, all of Jetcast’s partners, resources and servers combine to form a grid network which is centrally brokered. The Jetcast network does not clog the Internet, but instead provides efficiencies that can not be traditionally achieved otherwise.

Jetcast also applies a technology to make firewall and NAT (network address translation) traversal. In the Internet, 48% of users are behind an NAT router, and 80% of users are using a firewall. NATs and firewalls can block the procedure of a connection establishment, and this can make it hard for an application to work correctly. Jetcast can traverse 90% of firewalls and NATs.
