They don't call 'em Young Presidents for nothing! And I'm not sure why they call them 'young'- these are no whipper snappers, why, their collective wisdom ALONE puts them up there with Mathuzula. Being the Young and Bright is exactly what brought them to Ross Mason- owner and visionary of Motion Media Solutions.
Tell the truth—aren’t you secretly hoping that the life you’re living isn’t really happening?
Ok that’s just me.
But don’t you kind of wish you could wrap yourself in black plastic, slick your hair back and rule the world of simulated reality?
Maybe that’s just me too.
Even if you choose to lie about the first two, you have to admit that The Matrix hit a nerve with practically an entire generation. And that’s exactly what Young Presidents' Organization was counting on when they hired Motion Media Solutions to present this year’s Educational Calendar Kick-off.
YPO’s core mission is to develop “Better Leaders Through Education and Idea Exchange.” It was a supersized idea exchange, merged with brainstorming, round table tactics that allowed Motion Media Solutions’ Ross Mason to lead the team in what was a show stopping motion media event.
Jim Slaughter, editor and green screen guru at Motion Media Solutions, had this to say,
“In this project, the biggest challenge was removing a character from existing footage and then overlaying our actor on top of the background that was remaining. This is a complex process because you have to work with the video available rather than creating a new background from scratch.”
Thanks to Jim’s wizardry, the fine motion picture super star unioned actors were, what appears to have been, effortlessly replaced with YPO exec’s. The lighting, staging and costuming were perfect.
While green screening has been going on in Hollywood for a long while, we see it’s wonders everyday on the evening newscast. Jim says weather forecasters have been standing in front of a green screen for 30 years.
News to me!
I was wondering how user friendly the whole green screen thing has become; can director Joe, sitting in his easy chair, get it done?
“Now days, there are many low-cost options available in the screen material, camera equipment, and computer software that have become apparent in home videos that people have posted on internet video sharing sites such as YouTube. It is readily available enough that just about anyone can use green screen technology in a video.”
Jim said all that and I thought- just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. He continued his thought, “There is a notable difference in quality between green screen that one can do with a home video camera and the work produced in a studio with proper lighting, sound and HD camera equipment.”
Precisely! Which brings us back to the point.
Motion Media Solutions is ahead of the curve. Having 20+ years experience in the industry they bring a depth of knowledge and end user creativity to every production that is rarely seen from smaller production houses.
