Digging Post Holes The general rule of digging post holes is to set the post into the ground at least 1/3 of the depth of the overall length of the post. For example, if you have a 6 foot tall fence you want a 9 foot post that will be buried at least 3 foot into the ground. If you have an 8 foot tall fence you will want posts that are 12 foot long and you will want to set the posts at least 4 foot deep in the ground. Previously their website constantly recalculated the cost as you entered the mat board dimensions for the opening and borders. The re-calc process was turned off and added an "update size" button, The Update Button tells the website when you are ready for it to calculate the external mat size and the new cost.
