Plano Best Realtor Cyndie Gawain asks why real estate agents sell their own houses for more money. Why do real estate agents sell their own houses for more money? The popular book Freakonomics, written in 2005, states that statistically real estate agents receive 5% more for their homes when they sell them. Why would that be? There has been much speculation. Maybe they do not care as much about other people's home because a few dollars more on sales price makes a small difference in their commission? Is it that they are ready for their money and want to move on quickly to sell the next house? I do not think so.
