You may have seen the Red and Black Attack Signs as you drive around Coppell and wondered what is going on?? The Red and Black Attack celebrates its fourth year and is Coppell's Education Foundation's community fundraising campaign.

Coppell ISD Education Foundation has two campaigns during the school year and the Red And Black Attack is the biggest fundraiser they have. The money will go to matching fund grants used for interactive learning programs, high tech and staff development. It will benefit the student body by paying for new creative educational programs that have been developed by our own teachers.

The Coppell Gazette Star quotes Shawnee Ingrun, the Coppell Independent School District's Education Foundation president, "We face some significant challenges in our school district. With the economy as it is, education excellence at Coppell ISD will be hard to maintain without help". She states that the district can not depend solely on tax dollars and that it is highly unlikely there would be any significant relief for the district in the near future.

Last year the Red and Black Attack brought in more that $126,000. Last November the foundation gave out more than $50,000 in grants to teachers within the district giving them the ability to improve teaching with new programs in the classroom.

Over the past eight years the foundation has contributed over $600,000 to assist programs not covered by our taxes.
