The Lexus LS 460
Call it a world's first.  Coupled to a new, incredibly powerful 4.6-liter V8, generating 380 horsepower and 367 lb-ft of torque the eight-speed automatic transmission finds 60 miles per hour in 5.4 incredibly smooth seconds. Through intelligent engineering, the LS offers significantly more power than ever before.  Its unique fuel-injection system utilizes both port and direct injectors for more precise delivery of fuel and better management of the air/fuel ratio in the combustion chamber.  Part of what makes this direct injection so efficient is the piston's contour, which directs a richer concentration of gasoline toward the spark plug - resulting in more intense combustion.

The Lexus GS 350 and 460

The GS 350 features dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The GS 460 features VVT-iE, with an additional intake function that responds more quickly and eliminates any effect cold weather may have upon starting the engine. One that employs sweeping curves and sculpted countercurves to convey a sense of graceful movement. They then brought this thinking to bear on every part of the ES, however small. Resulting in beautiful details throughout, such as the clean line of the available panorama glass roof, or the way a door handle catches the light. But looks are only part of the story. A 3.5-liter engine delivers 272 horsepower and 254 lb-ft torque, making for an exceedingly smooth and confident ride. The experience is even more enjoyable with the richness of the standard medium brown walnut interior trim and luxury features like SmartAccess, as well as the available Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System.
