CEO Charles Phillips Shares New Aspects of Infor

CEO Charles Phillips of Infor recently shared with employees and customers that the “New Infor” applications will have attributes that will specialize in different industries and will be quicker. Charles Phillips shared this information with roughly 5,000 Infor and Lawson customers at the Colorado Convention center in April 2012. He explained that acquiring Lawson would allow Infor to be a more comprehensive company and one that would be able to expand upon its already well-developed applications.

         Included in the “new Infor” is a new executive team, which CEO Charles Phillips described as: “Poised to bring increased productivity to customers around the world through a passion for product innovation, open transparency, increased accessibility and aggressiveness-comparing the spirit of the "new Infor" to a start-up”. The new team includes Melanie Lougee, Duncan Angove, and Soma Somasundaram.

         Infor now has two different groups of solutions that are available to aid in particular business requirements. The Infor10 Business Intelligence is made to improve the tools that business owners already use daily. It helps people within a business communicate more effectively. On the other hand, Infor10 ION Intelligence takes business information and incorporates it into the Infor10 ION’s built-in business intelligence. This makes it easier to present information that is relevant to the task at hand.

         Another exciting addition to Infor is the new president, Stephan Scholl. At Infor, Scholl will be second to CEO Charles Phillips. As president, Scholl will focus on Infor’s sales, consulting, alliances, channels, and he will be the executive sponsor for large accounts. Previously, Scholl was the CEO of Lawson software, which was recently acquired by Infor. Scholl was also the general manager of the Utilities Global business sector of Oracle. CEO Charles Phillips commented on his excitement regarding Scholl as president: “For nearly a decade I have witnessed first-hand Stephan's track record of success, his in-depth knowledge of our business, his operational and industry expertise, and his laser focus on helping our customers drive speed and innovation at their organizations. Stephan's leadership has contributed greatly to the recent success of the company, which includes five consecutive quarters of double-digit license growth, and I am pleased to recognize him for these outstanding contributions with the title of President.”

The customers strongly desire specific applications for specific industries, and are happy that Infor delivers these applications.
