Helene Honeybone, Strategic Marketing Principal with Practical Advertising, Dallas, Texas, is a marketing executive with 15 + years of agency and corporate marketing and communications experience.
Helene was born and brought up in Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from the School of Economics and Management at Lund University, Sweden, in 1996, where she earned her Masters degree in Business Administration, concentrating on Marketing and Management. She spent several semesters in France with École Supérieure de Commerce de Marseille-Provence (ESCMP) and École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP). Her Masters thesis was written for the renowned Swedish camera company Hasselblad (which had the first camera on the moon), and dealt with consumer behavior of the professional photographers on the French market. Helene was also awarded a scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in Marketing and Management at the National University of Singapore. This is where she met her husband to be, Mark, and after traveling around the world, she ended up in the U.S. and Texas.
Helene worked as the Marketing Manager for TXI Star Recycling (a recycling arm of the cement and steel manufacturer TXI) for several years. In January, 2000, she joined forces with Tray LaCaze and founded, PRACTICAL ADVERT!SING. Their goal was to develop an agency that would focus on building relationships with start-up companies and businesses in transition by providing them with practical advertising solutions.
Helene manages the marketing side of the business working closely with clients in the development of their identity and marketing programs. Practical Advertising serves a large range of industries including: Communications, Event Planning, Fashion, Financial, Furniture, Medical, Non-Profit, Printing, Packaging, Real Estate, Restaurants, Technology and Travel.
As current board member of DFW International, business member and former Vice President of The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce-Texas (SACC-TX); Choir Master and former Vice President and Treasurer of the Swedish Educational Women’s Association (SWEA) Dallas, Helene has been very involved in the international community in Dallas-Fort Worth. She also currently serves on the Stonewall Jackson Elementary PTA and served for 2 years on the board of the Children’s Center of Dallas Pre-school and the Grace Miracle Works network, helping the homeless.
Helene has had diverse international exposure and great opportunities to get to know different cultures, languages, and to meet new people. She has lived in Sweden, England, France, Singapore, and the U.S. However, her family ties are still in Sweden, mainly in Skåne and the island of Öland, where she also prefers to spend her time when she returns there.
