Severe recession increases demand for more advanced communicators at every opportunity
Anticipation is growing for the Builders Show in Las Vegas, January 19 - 22, 2010 (see www.buildersshow.com), as builders nationwide scramble to find more profitable options. The tradeshow always features many excellent new products, and exhibits are staffed with more sales staff and demonstrators determined to sell more products.
More than 60,000 building industry professionals attended last year’s show in Las Vegas, with some 1,600 companies exhibiting. This year 175 educational sessions and dozens of preshow special events will also be held where professionals can learn newer and better techniques and share ideas for squeezing more profits from their operations by working smarter, not harder.
As the largest building industry show in the U.S., activity at this year’s event is expected to be more intense with time being the hot commodity. Everyone attending is going to try to get as much out of every minute and extract more possibilities from every contact. With builders nationwide searching for a competitive edge in a retracted market, more companies are including the sales-generating assistance of professional tradeshow models and talent to help secure new business.
Professional demonstrators, narrators, crowd gatherers, hostesses and hosts are being booked in advance to help ensure the products and services of the companies they represent achieve the greatest return on their tradeshow investment.
While interest is being generated to a gathering crowd by a professional speaker about a new device or equipment, for example, individual attention is dedicated to those seeking more information (read: those who want to be sold). Utilizing the services of trained and experienced tradeshow personnel frees up the time of the core sales people helping to secure connections with interested prospects and new customers.
By interacting directly with attendees, the perception of a brand or product is more profoundly affected, just as an entertainer works a crowd at a Vegas show. The presenter’s polish and professionalism evokes responses within these interactions and helps influence behavior and response within marketing plans and campaigns. For example, most car salesmen know that “the feel of the wheel makes the deal,” and will always encourage a test drive of the vehicle they are selling to help the prospective customer “take ownership” of the vehicle. The attractive and sincere tradeshow model acts as an extension of the company represented by handing out sales literature or encouraging the exhibit visitor to handle the tool or device itself, creating an association between the product or brand and an idea in the customer’s mind.
Tools, equipment, services, and more are more easily explained by attractive and engaging models and demonstrators who are not distracted by ongoing noise and activities around them, using their experience to present a company’s advantages to prospects. And the benefits compound each day of exhibiting.
At the end of the show, the experienced exhibitors have more leads and more sales generated as a direct result of having invested in tradeshow talent. The Preferred Promotional Model and Talent Agency has been supplying tradeshow models and demonstrators for the Builders Shows for years. The costs are justified because the returns are greater. Nobody can be everything to everyone, and builders know that using the single, best tool for a specific task is the surest way to accomplish success.
