PROTERRA ADVERTISING ALONG WITH ASHLEY KELLOGG FORBES HOST PRESENTATION, ‘THE 4R’S TO RATIONAL THINKING’.

Dallas, Tx…. Danny Sanchez and Ashley Kellogg Forbes discussed ways of dealing with today’s troubling economic conditions in a seminar entitled, ‘A Rational Approach to Irrational Times: Entering 2010 with Velocity.’

The presentation examined ways businessman can develop effective professional and personal strategies while operating within ethical boundaries. Given the immense economic and social challenges 2009 has presented, the ability to assess difficult situations, identify new opportunities, and move forward towards maximizing those opportunities is more important than ever.  Danny and Ashley believe that the strategic analysis necessary for success in business and life is a skill which can be taught.

“People are losing the ability to think for themselves. They are spending precious energy worrying about issues that may or may not affect their business. They don’t stay focused on the big picture long enough to really figure anything out,” says Danny Sanchez, President of Proterra Advertising.

With this in mind, the seminar explored how the human mind breaks down information and why people think and act the way they do.  Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, a theory explaining the motives underlying human behavior, formed the basis of this analysis, which stressed Maslow’s notion that a healthy and altruistic relationship with one’s community is the key component of an effective and well-organized mind.

Danny and Ashley then unveiled the 4 R’s of Rational Thinking, a strategic approach to solving the problems that permeate every aspect of life.  The 4 R’s are Reality, Rationality, Resources, and Resolution.  The idea is that assessing the realities of a situation, analyzing it rationally, and identifying available resources leads to an effective resolution.  The process requires a healthy respect for reality and the ability to resist one’s tendency to believe in a “pretend” normal.

Seminar attendees discussed each idea advanced in the presentation with great vigor, especially in applying the 4 R’s approach to specific, real-world situations.  Danny and Ashley envision this seminar as the first in a series intended to spread vital concepts of ethical and productive business behavior throughout the corporate community.
