Your smile is important. It’s one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter,  brighter smile is beautiful – it can make you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression. 83% of people believe their teeth are more important to their appearance than hair and eyes.

You may not realize it, but your SMILE is one of the first things people notice about you:

  • 40% of Women notice first
  • 25% of Men notice first

Survey your first impression ....If it’s not very impressionable, we can help!

According to a study by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, people with a beautiful smile are considered more intelligent, friendly, and successful. If you’ve considered braces, bonding, or teeth whitening to improve your smile, consider porcelain University Park veneers by Dr. Parham. Handcrafted, custom-designed porcelain University Park veneers address tooth color, shape, size, alignment, and overall appearance. So, instead of having multiple cosmetic procedures, University Park veneers may be exactly what you need. (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)

In dentistry, a University Park veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a University Park veneer, composite and dental porcelain. A composite University Park veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth, typically using a resin cement.

In contrast, a porcelain University Park veneer may only be indirectly fabricated. (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)

University Park veneers are an important tool for Dr. Parham. He may use one University Park veneer to restore a single tooth that may have been fractured or discolored, or multiple teeth to create a "Hollywood" type of makeover. Many people have small teeth resulting in spaces that may not be easily closed by orthodontics. Some people have worn away the edges of their teeth resulting in a prematurely aged appearance, while others may have malpositioned teeth that appear crooked. Multiple University Park veneers can close these spaces, lengthen teeth that have been shortened by wear, provide a uniform color, shape, and symmetry, and make the teeth appear straight. Dr. Parham routinely uses University Park veneers to fix:

  • Teeth that are discolored -- either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discolored the tooth (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)
  • Teeth that are worn down (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)
  • Teeth that are chipped or broken (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)
  • Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them) (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)
  • Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth) (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)

University Park veneers usually require two clinical visits after the initial consultation. At the first visit, Dr. Parham will prepare your teeth for the University Park veneers, take a digital impression, then secure temporary University Park veneers. At our dental lab, a ceramist will create your University Park veneers using durable aesthetic porcelain and following Dr. Parham’s design. In a week or so, your final University Park veneers will arrive and you will return to our office, and we’ll remove your temporary University Park veneers. Dr. Parham will then permanently attach the final restorations onto your teeth. He’ll assess the fit and check your occlusion, then make adjustments if necessary. You’ll leave this visit with your gorgeous new smile intact. (University Park veneers provided by Randy A. Parham, D.D.S.)
