Glory House Catering won Small Business of the Year from the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. The award celebration was hosted at the Studios of Las Colinas on April 22, 2009.
Glory House Catering was awarded Small Business of the Year by the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to a small business who shows a dedication to business practices and is very involved in the community. The winner is determined by votes from Chamber members.
Jo Ann Goin, the owner of Glory House Catering and Receptions on The Main, is the Chairwoman of the Small Business Services Committee with the Irving Chamber of Commerce. Jo Ann hosts the committee in the Chamber board room every second Tuesday of each month. This committee has been instrumental in creating goals to assist small businesses in the metroplex. The goals of the Small Business Committee include promotion of business development, increasing networking and communications for small businesses, developing programs and events, and encouraging entrepreneurship.
The Small Business Services Committee hosts a monthly event at Receptions on The Main called Coffee Break. This event is held the second Thursday of each month from 8:15 Am to 9:30 Am. Coffee break regulary has an attendance of 65 or more businesses. Each Coffee Break event allows each guest a 30 second microphone announcement about their business. After the 30 second commercials, a panel of 3 experts will take the floor to discuss a variety of business topics pertinant to the success of every small business. The topics include marketing, staffing, legal requirements, and many more.
