House plants provide more than just decoration.  They improve your health and shape your style.  Beautiful interior foliage and home floral decor help define a space and add comfort to any home.

Southern Botanical Interiors, Dallas, Texas, brings the outside in by providing its commercial and residential customers with interior foliage design, installation and plant maintenance services.

Using interior foliage as part of your interior design, house plants can represent your lifestyle and help set the mood for a room.  Some people have a more contemporary and modern style, and may prefer something architectural, sculptural or even eclectic for their home floral décor.  Others opt for the more traditional look, adding houseplants that communicate romance, sweetness or a sense of calm.  There are blooming plants, tropical garden plants, unusual plants, exotic houseplants, and succulents.  There are even interior plants that represent a more Mediterranean or style.

Today’s houseplants come in a variety of shapes, heights and colors, with or without blooms and scents.  There are indoor house plants that do not require much sunlight, and other interior plants requiring direct exposure to sunlight.  Before you decide which houseplants to add to your indoor environment, walk around your house and feel the atmosphere.  Then note to yourself in which rooms, plants and flowers could really add a new sense of comfort.  It might be on the mantel in the living room, on a shelf in the guest bathroom, in the entryway, or by the French doors facing the back patio.  Think about how much space a plant would take up, and measure the room if necessary.  Also think about the amount sunlight that each of these spaces receives on a daily basis, if any.  Sun-loving plants and flowers, needing six or more house of direct sunlight per day, should be placed facing the South, plants that need medium exposure to sunlight, or approximately three to six house per day, should be placed facing the East or West, and plants and flowers that love the shade should be placed facing the North.

There are numerous websites that outline different types of plants.  Southern Botanical Interiors, Dallas, Texas has developed an interior plant guide that will help you determine which interior foliage work best for your home relative to plant height and sun requirements.  With larger plants, you will want to know how large they will become at maturity.  You will also want to find out how to care for the interior plants once installed, i.e. much to water your plants and flowers and how often.

Southern Botanical Interiors can help you with all of the above.  We recommend interior design elements for our clients using digital imaging during the design phase so that you can visualize the plant and flower concepts that we are suggesting to install and maintain.  We can also create custom containers to fit the image or style of your home.  We offer a containerized patio program, we design, install and maintain preserved interior plants and flowers and trees, and we are also an experienced installer of very large specimen of trees and plants.
