Southern Botanical Interiors in Dallas is a Licensed Florist by the Texas Department of Agriculture

The purpose of Licensed Florist (or Nursery Floral Licensing Program) with the Texas Department of Agriculture is to ensure that customers receive pest free plants through registration and inspection of nursery and floral establishments in Texas.

Licensees range from the producers and distributors of a vast variety of crops (trees, shrubs, bedding plants, ornamental, turf, floral, foliage and tropical), to the flower vendors on street corners.  A Nursery Floral license is required by each business at each location where nursery and/or floral items are sold, offered for sale or lease, distributed, grown for the purpose of sale or lease, or offered as an enticement to promote the sales or lease of other items.

Compliance: All nursery floral facilities are subject to a compliance inspection. If during such an inspection an establishment is found unlicensed or incorrectly licensed, it is brought under compliance through appropriate enforcement procedures. Plant products sold from unregistered locations are subject to a stop-sale order.

Application Process: An application for certification must be submitted on a form prescribed by the Department. Failure to complete the application form in its entirety may result in denial of the registration. A license is valid for one year from effective date and shall expire on the last day of the anniversary month.  An event permit may be obtained by contacting the Department at least one day prior to the event.

TDA Inspection: All nursery floral licensed facilities are subject to routine inspections by TDA Inspectors. If during such an inspection nursery and/or floral products are found to be pest infested or sold from an unregistered location, the products are subject to a stop-sale order.

In holiday times, your licensed florists bring the outside in and adds to your holiday décor with fresh poinsettias, orchids and plants. Plants and flowers, whether in a vase or planted in a pot, bring color to our surroundings, and even if we don't notice their impact on us, most family members do respond in positive ways to the presence of flowers. For example, when the walls start closing in and the great outdoors narrows to a few cramped corners, some well-placed plants or flower arrangements can help ease the squeeze. Whether a patio needs pizzazz or an office calls for a pick-me-up, potted plants add a natural dash of color and life.

Adding greenery is a great way to bring the outdoors inside or to spruce up a front stoop or window box. Even the smallest areas can be made more inviting with the addition of container plants or hanging baskets. Research has even proven that flowers within the home help reduce stress levels. They provide an atmosphere of brightness and cheer.  And believe it or not, that reduced stress even carries over to their workplace. They actually are more productive if they have had flowers in the home.

Whether you are decorating your table for holiday feasts, or simply embracing the changing seasons, Southern Botanical Dallas will consult with you and recommend the perfect combination of fresh flowers and plants to add warmth and beauty to your office or home for the season.
