Jason Craven, President and Owner of Dallas landscaping company Southern Botanical Inc., was awarded the prestigious 2012 Young Leader Award by the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association in June 2012.
The TNLA, or Texas Nursery and Landscape Association and the preeminent green industry organization in Texas, created the award in 1996 to recognize young TNLA members who, through their efforts to the association, the industry and the community, have already made a significant and noticeable impact.
Criteria for the award requires individuals to be nominated by their peers, to be under 41 years old, members of the TNLA or owner/employees of member organizations, and to have made notable contributions to the industry, the association and the community. Nominations are submitted to TNLA for judging.
“This was a total surprise, and a very humbling experience,” said Mr. Craven, “I am the recipient of an honor that should really be shared by our whole team. They represent the best, most talented, hardest working people in the industry. I can only accept this recognition on behalf of the entire company!”
