Chris Deshotel: Head Parking Lot Estimator Louisiana District

Stripe-A-Zone, the country’s leading parking lot striping company, recently opened a Lousiana office and has named Chris Deshotel as the Head of Parking Lot Estimating for the Louisiana District.

Running businesses is nothing new for Deshotel. He started his own aquarium cleaning business at the age of 11. His aquarium cleaning business began as Deshotel was at a car repair shop with his parents and noticed the fish tank looking rather dirty. The owner gave Deshotel the opportunity to do a better job than the previous cleaner. Deshotel performed well and the owner of the repair shop soon recommended him to all his friends.

When Deshotel entered high school he worked for Circuit City’s On The Job Training Program. While at Circuit City, Deshotel earned $32,000 in annual commissions while working less than 30 hours a week. After high school, Deshotel landed a job with a theft and vandalism car repair company and was promoted to manager of the facility within two months. At age 18 Deshotel was overseeing about 20-25 car repairs a day and managing over 20 employees. Deshotel learned very valuable organizational and multitasking skills, which would lead him to his next job at Car Toys.

For the next six years, Deshotel worked on the management team of a local Car Toys location. Deshotel would start off as a sales associate and installer. He was next promoted to Store Assistant Manager and eventually Store Manager of the branch location. After Car Toys, Deshotel worked as a Diesel Technician for Saia Motor Freight for two years, but missed the fun of selling and interacting with great people all day. This would take Deshotel to his next career with Chase Bank as an investment banker, where he completed his series 6.63 and life insurance exam qualifications in under two months. While there, Deshotel sold mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance. Deshotel hit his numbers so quickly after he started that Chase Bank asked him to speak at new hire trainings and seminars on how to start well with the company.

Eventually Deshotel was introduced to Stripe-A-Zone Vice President David Sargent. Deshotel was hired by Sargent in September 2009 and was put in charge of operating the new Stripe-A-Zone Baton Rouge, Louisiana office. Deshotel will be responsible for growing the sales of the Louisiana office and maintaining the day-to-day operations.
