Studio Movie Grill Begins Blockbuster Run in Lewisville

Fifth Location is ‘Film, Food and Fun’ for All

March 3, 2007 Lewisville, TX – Citizens of Lewisville no longer have to make the difficult choice between dinner or a movie – and don’t even have to consider a drive in to Dallas for a good time. Studio Movie Grill, the Dallas-based pioneer of the “movie grill” concept – which combines first-run movies, a state-of-the-art viewing experience and high quality food – is opening its much-anticipated fifth Texas location, this one in Lewisville. The curtain goes up this April, kicking off a new way to kick back in the fast-growing suburban area.

“A night out should be a fun, relaxing experience – no waiting in long restaurant lines or compromising on a late-night movie because you couldn’t fit it all in,” said Brian Schultz, founder, co-owner, president and visionary of Studio Movie Grill. “With or without the family, the evening’s experience should be an easy decision with no schedules to work out. Families in Lewisville deserve that in their own backyard.”

With eight theaters showing first-run movies, the new Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville will offer ‘Film, Food and Fun,’ the company’s mantra and differentiating philosophy. When opened in May of this year at 1600 S. Stemmons Freeway at Corporate Drive, it will be the only movie-grill concept in the area.

“We thoroughly enjoy introducing new neighborhoods to the-movie-grill-done-right and can’t wait to open our doors in Lewisville,” said Schultz. “Once customers walk into the stylishly designed lobby, take a seat in one of the theater’s individual leather recliners, and order a delicious meal served hot and fresh at their table, we are confident that the experience will exceed their expectations.”

Schultz envisioned the Studio Movie Grill concept while working for a U.S. senator on Capitol Hill and visiting a local “cinema draft house.” He decided to expand the concept to include tasty, first-rate food and opened his first location in Dallas in 1992. Today, Studio Movie Grill has four locations in Texas: Addison, Plano, Houston, Arlington, and now Lewisville, with two more locations in the works. But, with each new movie grill opening, Schultz stays close to his intent to offer patrons first-run movies coupled with first-rate fare.

At Studio Movie Grill, ticket prices are equal to or below those of traditional theaters. And to make things even easier for patrons who want to be sure not to miss a popular movie, Studio Movie Grill provides online ticketing as well as a ticket kiosk on site.

After entering the theater, patrons choose an individual leather recliner that swivels, rolls and tilts. Once seated, they can peruse the menu and then press the call light on a small coaster to let the friendly staff know they want service or need a refill. The call light minimizes any potential disruption to other movie fans.

And no more paying top prices at a normal theater for a hot dog you wouldn’t feed -- well, your dog. The extensive Studio Movie Grill menu, created by Chef Thad Kelley and featured twice on the Food Network’s Top Five, includes something for everybody, from fresh salads to robust burgers and chicken sandwiches, shrimp or rib platters, gourmet hand-tossed pizza with honey-baked dough, and, of course, mouthwatering desserts such as the ever popular Brownie Sundae.

Patrons can satisfy their thirst with an exhaustive list of domestic and imported beers, premium wines, and specialty mixed drinks, such as a Kahlua Mudslide, Starbuck’s Mochatini™, or the signature 20 oz. Studio Grandé Blue Margarita. Non-alcoholic beverages also are available.

Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville exceeds today’s highest THX™ standards. All eight theaters are outfitted with stadium seating, 100 percent Dolby Digital EX sound systems, higher gain, wall-to-wall screens and superior projection technology, including high-end reflectors and top-of-the-line projector lenses. Plasma televisions in the lobby display previews and other exciting content.

The complex is also outfitted to handle large meetings, events, conferences and birthday parties. With hard-wired DLP projectors offering ‘plug and play’ display on large screens, meetings and presentations will achieve a richness and retention level significantly higher than in settings not optimized for multimedia. A team of experienced event planners are available to assist in every step of the event, from creating themes and ideas to selecting menu items to renting additional equipment and decorations to make the event a memorable one.

Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville is located at 1600 S. Stemmons at Corporate Drive in Lewisville, TX. It is open seven days a week. For movie information, visit www.studiomoviegrill.com
