ON-GOING SPECIAL NEEDS SCREENINGS

Saturday , May 19, 11:00 a.m.

Movie-going is a magical experience, the opportunity to be transported from reality to an enchanted theater for several hours, that many people take for granted. Children with special needs often do not have the movie-going opportunity because of their conditions. Studio Movie Grill launched a Special Needs Program, in which children with disabilities, such as autism, are invited to share the big screen during a private viewing. The experience has been heart-whelming, tear-shedding and eye-widening, for the parents and children alike. After the success of several special needs screenings, including most recently Meet The Robinsons on March 31, patrons are eagerly anticipating the next screening at 11 a.m. on May 19 of Shrek the Third. Other upcoming special needs screenings include Surf’s Up on Saturday, June 9 and Ratatouille on Saturday, June 30, both at 11:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the box office the day of the event.

KATHERINE TYRA LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM

For the second consecutive year, Studio Movie Grill will be providing a free movie ticket to children who enroll in the Katherine Tyra Library summer reading program. This is an exciting way for Studio Movie Grill to give back to the community and encourage children to keep their reading skills up during the summer so they are ready to head back to the school in the Fall.

Co-Founder, President, and Visionary of Studio Movie Grill, Brian Schultz says, “Houston, especially Copperfield, is a wonderful community, and we are so appreciative of its generosity and support. Our one year anniversary is just as much of a celebration of our neighborhood as it is of our company.”

“Studio Movie Grill’s careful focus on every detail important to enjoying dinner and a movie ensures customers will never have to make the choice of ‘Movie or a meal?’” explains Schultz. “Our careful development of the movie grill concept, over more than 10 years, has enabled us to create the ultimate environment.”

And that environment has been recognized by movie fans and critics alike. Voted “Ultimate Fun & Games 2006” by Houston Chronicle, the award claims, “Wide stadium-seating aisles offer good sight lines to the screen and plenty of room for waiters, tables and comfy, rolling executive chairs. An electronic call system is fast and sure. Food from a Chili's-esque menu ranges from good to very good, and prices are reasonable.”
