SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Although Studio Movie Grill is still a few weeks from opening, this massive development has already impacted the local economy.
During the past few months, the Dallas-based company has taken what was a vast, empty building and is transforming it into a state-of-the-art movie theater complex. Dozens of local construction workers have been working to convert this space into a vibrant entertainment mecca offering customers the next generation movie-going experience. The Scottsdale location will house a nine-screen upscale theater, complete with Dolby-digital projection.
As Studio Movie Grill prepares for the heavy hitting fall and holiday movies, the company has already begun hiring staff members, many of whom live in Scottsdale and nearby Tempe. In addition, the company is still looking to hire employees to fill a number of hourly positions. Once hiring is completed the theatre will employ more than 225 people.
“We are looking forward to providing not only a future of wonderful entertainment and dining for residents in the area, but becoming a true partner in the community and providing the members of this great community with numerous economic opportunities,” states Studio Movie Grill Co-Owner, Brian Schultz.
In addition to hiring more than two hundred locals, many of the management positions at Studio Movie Grill have been filled by local residents. “It’s great for our opening team to have a vast knowledge of the local community, and to know exactly what is important to each of our guests,” said Schultz.
Studio Movie Grill will anchor the newly enhanced Sonoran Village Shopping Center and is sure to be a major attraction to the vibrant surrounding community. SMG has proven to be a boon to surrounding retailers through its ability to provide advertising 365 days a year as well as increasing the volume of customers to nearby establishments.
Studio Movie Grill Scottsdale’s state-of-the-art theatre complex will open to the public in early November in north Scottsdale at 15515 N. Hayden Rd., just south of Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd., anchoring the newly enhanced Sonora Village, and will be an added attraction to the North Valley’s vibrant community. Housed in a 40,000-square-foot, nine-screen, upscale theatre, the new Studio Movie Grill Scottsdale will mirror many of the amenities of a home theatre, with its spacious, comfortable leather recliners and cozy dining tables. Guests can unwind before and after their theatre experience at a central bar that will serve premium liquors and specialty drinks. In addition, the large capacity theatres are available to handle corporate functions, private events, birthday parties, lunch meetings and other special events.
Studio Movie Grill Scottsdale will be SMG’s eighth location. Six locations in Texas include Arlington, Dallas/Royal, Lewisville, and Plano, as well as two locations in Houston: City Center and Copperfield in northwest Houston. SMG Holcomb Bridge is located in the Alpharetta suburb of Atlanta. More expansion plans are underway. For additional information, please visit www.studiomoviegrill.com
