Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® and Studio Movie Grill Launch “Circus Movie Mania” with Benefit Screenings of Academy Award-Winning “The Greatest Show On Earth”
Dallas/Fort Worth invited to support the community by seeing the Big Top Classic on the Big Screen for the first time in more than 50 Years!
DALLAS, TX (JUNE 1, 2007) -- What happens when you mix a little bit of circus magic with movie magic? You get the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and Studio Movie Grill present “Circus Movie Mania,” a circus movie fundraiser benefiting local non-profits.
On four consecutive evenings, July 9-12 from 7:00-10:00 PM, Ringling Bros. and Studio Movie Grill will host a special screening of the 1952 Academy Award-winning Best Picture “The Greatest Show On Earth.” Starring Charlton Heston, Jimmy Stewart and Betty Hutton, the blockbuster movie was directed by the incomparable Cecil B. DeMille. The family classic includes everything for movie and circus fans – drama, romance, comedy and elephantine fun. Theater-goers will also catch a small glimpse of the heartbeat of Ringling Bros. circus life when it traveled from city to city by pitching tents, more commonly known as the Big Top.
Tickets for the “Circus Movie Mania” fundraiser are $15 each. Admission includes the movie screening, a yummy pizza buffet, a meet-and-greet and performance by the zany Ringling Bros. Goodwill Ambassador Clowns, cool circus prizes, a raffle of VIP circus tickets and goodies, plus more. It promises to be a night full of Film, Food, Family & Fun!

America’s Attik is a non-profit organization that bridges businesses and communities for the common good -- children-at-risk. They help kids with cancer go to Camp Esperanza, which gives them the opportunity to forget their world of medicine and illness and focus on simply being a kid. America’s Attik also supports Camp Attitude for kids with disabilities where they learn to mouthpaint, use computers with the eyes, and interact with the non-disabled world around them.

The Fort Worth Zoo is home to more than 500 animal species, a world-famous reptile collection and one of the few breeding facilities for Asian elephants in the United States. More than 1 million people visit the nearly 100-year-old Zoo each year.

Children’s Medical Center Dallas is private, not-for-profit, and is the only academic healthcare facility in North Texas dedicated to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18. The hospital serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and is the only pediatric hospital in the Southwest with a designated Level I trauma center. Children’s prides itself on making life better for the patients it sees during more than 360,000 visits each year. To better serve the region’s growing pediatric population, the 72-bed Children’s Medical Center Legacy will open in 2008 in Plano, Texas.

Developed in 2002, Life And Fire Safety (LAFS) is a volunteer educational program within the Lewisville Fire Department that teaches life and fire safety to the public, with a primary focus on the youth in the community. This program targets grade schools, with high energy, fun and informational programs, teaching life and fire safety, via clowns, puppets, various characters, such as Sgt. Safety, Haz-Mat Guy, and more.
