Catholics Keeping the Faith on Reality TV

Catholic speakers Tarek Saab, from NBC's "The Apprentice", and Leah Darrow from "America's Next Top Model," were the featured speakers at the "Rise Up" youth rally held at St. Louis University on Monday, October 15th.

The two former reality TV stars gave inspirational speeches to the teens about their challenges with work, faith, and stardom. "Saab encouraged them to wage a war of spiritual violence using the tools of prayer and sacrifice against evils, such as lust for others and addictions. The spiritual fight can happen internally — through the personal struggle to maintain a strong faith life; and externally — fighting issues such as pornography, abortion, euthanasia and embryonic stem-cell research."

Nowadays, Mr. Saab is the President of T. Saab Media and the author of Gut Check: Confronting Love, Work, and Manhood in Your Twenties.

Ms. Darrow is working on her Master's in Counseling and is lending her talents to Pure Fashion, an "organization that teaches young women about etiquette, public speaking, makeup application, dressing modestly and faith formation."

Each speaker is represented by CMG Booking, a Catholic Speakers Bureau featuring some of the most influential Catholic speakers in the country.

The successful event was covered in a newspaper article by the The St. Louis Review entitled: "Despite their fame, Young Catholics keep, live their faith."
