The three main reasons that people install automatic gates on their home driveway are:

1) Security: An electric driveway gate completes the security perimter of your property and when properly connected to a high wall or fence can be a strong deterrent to unwanted entry. Having the ability to easily open and close the gate will enhance the security and privacy of your property simply because the gate will be closed as intended and will be difficult or impossible to open without the opener device or the permission of the property owner.

Here is a short list of additional benefits of an automatic gate:

1) Children and Pets: You can keep your young children and pets confined in the yard where you know they are safe.

2) Wild Animals: Rural locations find that the ingress and egress of wild animals is greatly reduced by the installation of a solid fence with an automatic gate.

3) Abuse of the Driveway: If your home has an automatic gate near the street access point you can prevent interlopers from using your driveway as a turning point. It is not uncommon for damage to the driveway, curbs, or adjacent lawn or shurbs to occur when people use the driveway as a turning point.

4) Reduce Insurance Costs: Most insurance companies offer discounts for property insurance when you install an automatic gate on your driveway.
