  • It is a simple fact that steel posts are stronger than wood posts. Properly installed steel posts can withstand significantly greater wind stress loads that wood posts. Steel posts have the added benefit of not being susceptible to wood destroying insects. Steel posts also resist water damage if the steel is either stainless or galvanized. Simply put, if you are planning on living in your home for the long term you will want to lower the maintenance costs and reduce the probability of wind damage.
