ORANGE, Texas — Hundreds of Orange residents rescued from Hurricane Ike's floodwaters are headed to San Antonio on 25 buses.

The 600 to 700 people rescued by nightfall Saturday were originally headed to Nacogdoches in East Texas, but that plan fell through.

It wasn't clear when the buses would make the 300-mile trip to San Antonio. Orange is on the Louisiana border, about 110 miles east of Houston.
