Frisco AC Repair Service owner Steve Lauten, President of Total Air and Heat in Plano, warns of rapid expansion of inexperienced vendors in N. Texas. The old adage of what goes up must come down applies to many different phenomena in life. It certainly applies to commodity prices, but it also applies to the movement of people in our society. The recent rapid decline in the new home construction industry across the U.S. has created two disturbing recent trends in North Texas. As we all know the North Texas economy, while certainly not humming along like it was a couple of years ago, it is still relatively strong when considered against the back drop of the recession impacting the United States. As a result we are seeing many people relocating to North Texas from other parts of the U.S. This also means that many new contractors are coming into North Texas and some of these contractors are finding that it is easier to set up shop without proper licensing, or, they set up shop while they are proceeding to fulfill the licensing requirements. Now I am not saying that new contractors to the area are universally lower quality I am just saying that you need to be careful to make sure that you are dealing with someone who is properly licensed and who fully understands the stresses and strains that 100 Degree Summer Heat can place on an HVAC System. Some of the contractors coming from the North and Northeast do not have real experience with Texas Summer Heat and believe it or not experience does make a difference. The other phenomena that we are experiencing is that many HVAC contractors who previously dealt with installing systems in new homes are now entering the replacement and repair business. Similar to those who come from other regions, there is a difference between installing new systems in new homes and debugging problems and fixing them with existing systems. Often the experienced repair technician can analyze and fix a problem much quicker than someone who's experience is limited to installing new systems in new homes.Frisco AC Repair Service, Total Air and Heat, is owned by Steve Lauten, the second generation owner. Founded in 1957 by Steve’s dad, Fred Lauten, Total Air and Heat is proud to have received some of the highest awards for quality and service that are offered in the Industry. Among those awards are the Readers Choice Awards from the Collin County Newspaper, the Trane Pacesetter Award in 2002, and designation as a Trane Comfort Specialist.
